BiographyLi Feng is Assistant Professor of Economics at Texas State University-San Marcos. She is an affiliated researcher with the CALDER Florida Team. Her research interests include the economics of education, labor economics, and health economics. Dr. Feng’s research centers on education policy issues related to teachers. She has conducted research on how classroom assignment, opportunity wages, and relative working conditions affect teacher attrition and mobility. Her current research focuses on the impact of school accountability on teacher mobility and quality. In addition, she is working with CALDER's team of researchers (Jane Hannaway, Zeyu Xu, Tim Sass, and David Figlio) on a project that compares teacher quality across high- and low-poverty schools. Other projects under way include a joint project with Tim Sass to investigate teacher quality in special education and special education students’ outcomes such as achievement on standardized tests, graduation rates, and college attendance rates, and a project investigating how Collective Bargaining Agreements may affect the distribution of teachers across different classrooms and schools in the state of Florida. Dr. Feng’s research has been funded by the U.S. Department of Education, American Educational Research Association, and the National Academy of Sciences. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Florida State University. | |
