Biography

Michael Podgursky is a professor of economics at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a member of the Strategic Planning Group and the principal investigator of Missouri team. He has published numerous articles and reports on education policy and teacher quality, and co-authored a book, Teacher Pay and Teacher Quality. Prior to Missouri, he was on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (1980-1995).

Dr. Podgursky earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia (1974) and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1980). He is a member of the American Economic Association, American Education Finance Association, and the Society of Labor Economists.
