Ph.D., Economics, University of Pittsburgh BiographyRichard E. Romano is the Gerald L. Gunter Professor of Economics at the University of Florida. He served as a Visiting Professor of Economics at Carnegie Mellon University and at the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the CALDER Florida team. Dr. Romano has served as a member of the American Economic Review's editorial board, and is currently on the editorial boards of the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Public Economic Theory, and Education Finance and Policy. Dr. Romano has published numerous articles on a variety of public policy issues, including government policy toward research and development, and anti-trust policy. His more recent research is focused on education policy and provision of local public goods, including exploration of voucher and school-choice policies and alternative approaches to school finance. This research has been supported by the National Science Foundation. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
